Tuition

How I write and share lesson work:

Students will have their own OneNote Notebook where the work from all of our lessons will be organised into tabs depending on topics. Between lessons I ensure that these are regularly updated to make student use easier.

The benefit of the OneNote is that it allows students to have one clear source of everything they need to know. Students who I have been tutoring for nearly 2 years have the entirety of all the skills that they need to revise for their GCSE or A-Level exams.

Experience and Qualifications:

Having began tutoring in the first year of my Undergrad Degree in 2016, I have spent the past decade honing my teaching skills through classroom practice and online tuition. Over this time I have completed my Undergrad; 2 Masters Degree’s; my PGCE and my 2 year ECT teacher training. Having spent 2 years balancing the roles of KS3 Maths Coordinator and tuition, since launching my company in 2023, I decided to spend this academic year focusing on my 30 students across the globe and growing the company to even further heights than I expected over its early years.

Some of the other things I do for my students:

Another tool I use is Google Classroom where all useful documents and homework assignments are posted. Revision packs and videos can be made by myself in my spare time and uploaded here. With parent and student permission I can be requested to record parts of lessons (without cameras on) so that students have the ability to re-listen to our maths discussions later on, whether its days, weeks or months later. My current students have found these revision packs, revision videos and lesson videos to be extremely helpful! I enjoy finding new ways to support my students and to create effective ways to support independent learning.

FAQs

  • The main piece of feedback I get is students want to come to my lessons. Whether it’s in school or through tuition I am excellent at building bonds with students. Without this they wouldn’t get much out of our lessons. Making the lessons and my teaching interesting is vital as if lessons don’t seem like a chore, students are engaged and we can enjoy doing maths together. Through this I have helped many students achieve great results over the years.

  • Parents often book 1 hour weekly lessons with me but that doesn’t mean that the student will only have 1 hour of support weekly. I often give free extra time, especially during the exam period and am generally always available to jump on Zoom to help students whenever they have a question. I like to offer support and guidance as much as I possibly can.

  • As mentioned above, I structure my tuition so that students really benefit from the technology and resources that I have. Using a graphics tablet and having multiple screens makes this a lot easier to teach! I readily make myself available whenever students need be. If students feel stressed about an upcoming test they know they can email me and I can jump on Zoom to support them if I’m available. I still tutor till 10pm most nights! Beyond lessons I also tailor make resources for my students and provide them with accounts to online learning platforms.

  • As I am taking this academic year to run my company full time I am able to tutor all around the world. I have students in British International schools or schools simply teaching the British curriculum in places like Dubai; Hong Kong; Cyprus; Singapore; and Thailand.
